Purpose

This report displays zip/postal codes and the number of people within each area. In Canada, the report counts people by the first 3 letters of the postal code. In the US and other countries the first 5 characters of the zip code field are used. For example, patrons with postal codes T2P 1W3 and T2P 5F3 are counted in the T2P category. Patrons in the 91234 and 91234-3333 zip code regions are counted in the 91234 category.

If printing the report using Patron Data, the purpose of the report it to merely display the generals areas of where the venue’s patrons live. If using the Donor Data, the purpose of the report is to let you know what areas donation most frequently come from, and what area have the largest donors.

Benefits

Because postal codes and zip codes are geographically based, this report is useful for analyzing where your patrons reside. Understanding where your audience comes from will help allocation of your marketing dollars.

Criteria Hints

When using this report the user must select a file to use for the report. The criteria that the user can choose from is completely dependant on the file that is initially selected.

When to Print

This is a useful report to print when target marketing your patrons by area. Whether it be sending out season pamphlets or donation requests.
