Education is going down the tubes in the empire. Planets are things in
quick relative motion to the stars. One degree of motion in 72 years for
stars does not make a star a planet according to the original greek root of
the word planet. However the quick relative motion of the moon 11+ to 15+
degrees within a 24 hour period does fit the greek root of the word planet.
Therefore by definition there are two elements in the skies, stars and
planets. By strict defination faithful to the greek "planet" a bird is a
planet.

And further if you were sitting on the surface of the moon the earth would
qualify as a planet as well. Satellites, which is the word which you are
groping for has it's origin much later and goes to the days of Gallileo and
his telescope and the moons of Jupiter.
